Whirlwind

I need to be better read so that I can have something to quote when weeks like this one take place.  As it is I feel a bit like Alice in the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland.

People and cats have curiosity in common.  Being curious is one way that we learn as babies we are always looking at new things listening to all the sounds and absorbing everything we can.  This is why sometimes little kids are tricky because they copy what you say and do and if it isn't nice well....  When our brains get bored we look for things that interest us because we are always curious.

Why does the first paragraph have anything to do with the second?

Because this week in my Alice type state I have had a new niece born and parents from out of town visit and a birthday party too.

I think the parents came not when it was the best time for all of the parties they were visiting but when it was a good time for them.  I also think that on some level they knew there would be a new baby and were curious enough to come hoping for a peek.  They are going to get it and I am sure they like everyone else will fall under her little baby spell.

The baby being born was a blessing because she was perfect and her mama did great and dad hung in there and supported them both the whole time.  My only advise to them is be an independent family within your other families because although it is great to have family it is best to have your own.

The birthday party is for an aging mother in law who is fiercely independent and is consistantly trying to please everyone.  Her children love her and wish her well.  Again being a family means you are tied to that person for life no matter what.  The responsibility we all hold is to take care of our families first.  So, we are taking care of this creative grandma with friends, family, spanish food and a lemon cake.  Enjoy grandma!

Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't supposed to be one of those little old italian ladies with a giant family who is so handy in the kitchen she consistantly has people and animals all around her feet in her kitchen and her home.  I know my husband feels the same.
